M’goun Summit Expedition

Itinerary:

Day 1: Marrakech to Ait Bougmez Valley

  • Depart from Marrakech in the morning.
  • Drive through the scenic High Atlas Mountains to reach Ait Bougmez Valley.
  • Trek to a local guesthouse for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Ait Bougmez to Oulilimt Village

  • Begin the trek towards the Oulilimt village.
  • Traverse lush green valleys and enjoy panoramic views.
  • Arrive in Oulilimt and camp under the stars.
  • Traditional Berber dinner at the campsite.

Day 3: Oulilimt to Tarkeddid Plateau

  • Ascend to the Tarkeddid Plateau, enjoying diverse landscapes.
  • Set up a high-altitude camp on the plateau.
  • Acclimatization and preparation for the summit push.
  • Dinner and rest at the plateau camp.

Day 4: Summit Day – M’goun (4,071 m)

  • Early morning start for the summit push.
  • Navigate challenging terrain to reach the summit of M’goun.
  • Take in breathtaking views from the top.
  • Descend to the Tarkeddid Plateau for an overnight camp.

Day 5: Tarkeddid Plateau to Arous Valley

  • Descend from the plateau to the Arous Valley.
  • Trek through diverse landscapes, including alpine meadows.
  • Camp along the Arous Valley for the night.
  • Farewell dinner and celebration.

Day 6: Arous Valley to Marrakech

  • Complete the trek with a descent to the Ait Bougmez Valley.
  • Transfer back to Marrakech in the afternoon.
  • Arrive in Marrakech and bid farewell.
